J.J. is just a newcomer at the Sheriff’s Department and the very first black officer at the station. Racial tensions run high in the department as some of J.J.’s fellow officers resent his presence. His only friend is the new trooper, the first officer to work there, that also suffers similar discrimination in the work environment that is otherwise all-white male. When J.J. becomes increasingly aware of authorities corruption during the murder trial of Teddy Woods, whom he helped to detain , he faces difficult decisions and puts herself into grave personal danger in the aid of justice.
